The City of York is pleased to announce the South Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority has granted our City a $320,000 Basic Infrastructure Grant
"Providing quality water to our residents is an essential function of municipal government. This $320,000 Infrastructure Grant will benefit an entire neighborhood of our city, improving the lives of many people on East Madison Street and beyond by replacing old water lines with new ones. When it comes to improving a competitive business climate, both South Carolina and North Carolina rank highly, Swenson said. “We compete on different levels; we’re in a healthy ‘cooper-tition’ in our marketplace here.” South Carolina competes in different ways than North Carolina, he said, allowing the entire region to benefit from the range of choices that companies in this area are offered. York County is the second-largest populated county in the Charlotte metro area. From March 2016 to March 2017, the county led the nation in job growth, Swenson said. “We’re one of the ring counties outside of Charlotte that’s bringing it, folks,” he said.

New Center to be located in Downtown York, SC

Members of the York County Council and county leaders held a ground breaking ceremony Saturday for a new $24 million complex that will house multiple government agencies in downtown York. The complex is part of an $89 million bond referendum passed in November of 2015 that includes multiple building projects. The government complex should be complete by spring of 2019.
