Regularly scheduled workweek, Monday through Friday, during standard operating hours, averaging 40 hours weekly. Weekends and after-hours work as needed.

Position Description:
The Utilities Director is responsible for providing quality customer service, planning for both short- and long-term operations, and overseeing the operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater systems. This role also involves effectively managing capital projects, the utility fund budget, and providing exceptional customer service. Works under the broad policy guidance and direction of the City Manager.

Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in engineering, construction management, public administration, or other related
fields. - At least five to eight years of experience in public utilities, with at least three years in an administrative or supervisory capacity preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Master’s Degree Preferred.
- South Carolina Professional Engineering License preferred, in engineering or a closely related field.
- Must possess a valid SC or NC State Driver’s License.
- SC LLR licensure in:
- SC Water Distribution Operator, Level C, or ability to obtain within 120 days of being hired.
- SC Water Treatment Operator, Level C, preferred or ability to obtain within a specified period.
- SC Biological Wastewater Treatment Operator, Level C, preferred or ability to obtain within a
specified period. - SC Utilities License Class “A” preferred or ability to obtain within a specified period.
