End of Liberty St. detours and closures
Construction for Phase 1 of the Liberty Street waterline has progressed more quickly than anticipated. Originally, road closures and detours were scheduled to remain in place until June 1, 2025. However, thanks to the accelerated progress, the City is moving the reopening date up to Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Approved signage will begin being removed that morning, and if all goes as planned, the road will be fully reopened by 12:00 p.m.
Additionally, beginning the morning of Tuesday, April 29, 2025, crews from Dellinger Inc. will perform taps on the new water main between the US Hwy 321 intersection and Harbor Street, working within the roadway shoulder. A work zone will be established, and flagging crews will be present to maintain traffic flow and avoid full road closures. Please exercise caution while traveling through this area.
